Happy 7th Dylan

Dylan celebrated is 7th birthday at Sherwood Forest with 4 of his friends. They played games, hit in the batting cages, bumper cars, and more games. They had a ball! He celebrated with the family at a local pizza place on his actual birthday. Here are a few pictures from his birthday parties.

Happy 5th Dawson!

Happy Birthday 5th Dawson! Dawson celebrated his birthday with a few friends. He had a water slide, pinata, pin the tail on the donkey, cake, and ice cream. What started as a two hour party ended up lasting until night time. The kids were having so much fun we decided to let them play.

First Day of School

Dawson had his first day of kindegarten today. He started big school with Dylan. He wanted to go, but when we got there and Donnie and I started to leave he did not want to stay. For the first few weeks he cried until finally he settled in. His teacher is great and now he loves school!


Dylan started second grade and he too has a great teacher. He was ready to go and get started. Dylan enjoys school. He has several boys in his class he knew from last year so it made it easier on him.

JUNE! What a Month!

Wow! Could June be any more busy? We started the month out ending our Spring ball season. We learned that Dylan made All-stars and Donnie would be the head coach. We did not know so much went into such a short time. It was a great experience and we met some wonderful people. We practiced for two weeks straight and in the mix of that we had Vacation Bible School, our 8 year anniversary, and our annual beach trip with the Cleary's. Our family and 25 other friends of ours went to Myrtle Beach. We had a great time. The weather was beautiful and the kids really enjoyed themselves. Donnie ate crab legs everynight, but one. The food was great and the hotel was fabulous. We came home a day early for one last practice before our All-star games started. Games started on Sat. the 21st we played a team from Parkview and won, Sun. we played Grayson blue and won, Monday we had a buy, Tuesday we played Grayson Gold and won, Wednesday we were exhausted and played Grayson blue again, but this time lost, Thursday We played Grayson blue for the third time and won, Friday we played Grayson gold and lost due to some major home cooking. The ump's were horrible. They made not 1 or 2, but 5 horrible calls on their favor. Our kids were upset because they knew what had happened, but unfortunatly it is a life lesson. We are so proud of all the boys they played 6 games in 7 days and never gave up or complained. They did awesome! We took home the second place trophey and our team also took home the sportsmanship trophey! All the coaches were great as were the kids and their parents. (Go Newton National!) We are going to have the boys a huge pool party in July.

Donnie celebrated his 33rd birthday today. The boys and I took him out for lunch (Japenese) and then we went shopping and he bought the boys new baseball gloves and Dylan a Georgia Bulldogs t-shirt (Go Dawgs). For dinner my mom, dad, pawpaw, grandmother, the boys, Donnie, and I went to Red Lobster for more crablegs (Donnie cannot eat enough)! For his birthday I framed two of his college baseball jersey's and hung them in his sports room in the basement. He also got a couple of dry fit polo shirts. He racked up.

Dylan and Donnie are in the fourth of July parade Friday morning for All-stars. Dylan is excited and Dawson is mad because he wants to be on the float too. I told him we will see it from the side of the road, but he wants to be in the middle of all the action.

Speaking of Dawson he learned to swim the last day we were at the beach. No more floaties (Yeah)! He is getting to be such a big boy. We went swimming at some friends in our neighborhood the other day and he had to show them how he could jump off the diving board with no floats on his arms. He was trying to impress a girl (like father, like son). My baby will be 5 next week. I cannot believe it. It seems like yesterday he was a newborn. They grow up way to fast. He will start K5 in a month and Dylan will start 2nd grade. Man time flies when your having fun.

We are the Champions!

We did it! The Reds won 1st place in our divison. The boys were ecstatic. We had to win both Thursday and Friday night to take first and we pulled it off. Dylan hit his first homerun on Thursday and then hit another on Friday (both were in the park). He was so excited as were Donnie and I. Our Reds team really pulled thru. All the boys hit and played great. On Saturday we had our team party in our neighborhood at the pavillion. The kids ate pizza, played, and recieved tropheys. After that we went to the ball fields where they got another trophey, but this one was bigger and better in the boys eyes because it was 1st place and everyone was there to see the team get it. Donnie was asked to coach all-stars in our division and now the fun starts. Dylan was one of the 12 boys chosen to be on the team so he is very happy. We will practice 2 weeks straight and then off to Grayson for the all-star tournament. It lasts a week, but it is double elimination. Hopefully we will be there the whole week. I think Donnie is just as excited as Dylan is. He loves competition. He is such a great coach and dad. He really goes that extra mile with our boys and the boys on his team. The tournament starts on June 21st so I'll let you all know how it goes.



On another note both Dylan and Dawson got promoted in school. Dylan will be in the 2nd grade and Dawson will begin Kindegarten. Dawson graduated pre-K and of course had to be a goof ball on stage. Dylan also had an awards ceremony where he got the most inquisitive (fits him to a T), and an academic achievment award. We were very proud of both the boys. They both enjoy school.





Donnie will be starting a new job soon. He is going to work for Stock Building Supply. The company he is with currently is closing on Friday. He is excited about the new opportunity. Please pray he has a smooth transition and this company will be as good to him as Ply-mart has been.

Dylan and Dawson are playing training league ball this year for the Reds. Donnie is coaching and the boys are having a ball (no pun intended). Dawson is only 4, but we played him up so that he and Dylan could be on the same team. They have both already gotten game balls. Dylan is batting lead off and loves to hit, but could care less about the field. Dawson likes to hit as well, but he would rather eat the snacks after the game. I have to bribe him with suckers for a hit, but he pulls it off. Dylan got his game ball against the Braves on April 26th. He went 4 for 4 that game. The Braves are a stacked division and a good friend of ours coaches it so it was great to see Dylan do so well against them. Dawson got his on 5-5-08. His game ball was against the Met's. They were in 1st place in our division and we were in the bottom of the 6th tied. We had one player on second and Dawson came up to bat and knocked it clear in the out field. It was awesome. Our team went wild as well as our opponents being that he is only 4 and the last batter in the line up. The boy on second scored and we won. Hope ya'll enjoy some of their pictures from ball.

Like Father, Like Son...
Both boys chose their own numbers this year. Ironically, the numbers that they chose were both Donnie's old numbers from when he played ball.
